College World Series Game 3

LSU Tigers Clinch Seventh National Title in Dominant Game 3 Victory

Baton Rouge, LA - Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers made history on Monday night, capturing their seventh national championship in dramatic fashion by defeating the Florida Gators 18-4 in the deciding Game 3 of the 2023 Men's College World Series Finals.

The Tigers, who had lost the first two games of the best-of-three series, showcased their resilience and determination in a dominant performance that left no doubt about their superiority.

LSU's offense exploded for 11 runs in the first three innings, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Dylan Crews led the charge with a home run and four RBIs, while Tre' Morgan and Cade Doughty each contributed three hits and two RBIs.

The Gators, who were aiming for their first national title since 2017, struggled to keep up with LSU's offensive onslaught. Florida managed just six hits and committed three errors, allowing the Tigers to take full control of the game.

On the mound, LSU's Ma'Khail Hilliard pitched 5.2 innings, allowing just two runs on four hits. He struck out seven batters and walked one, earning the win and solidifying his status as one of the top pitchers in college baseball.

The victory marks LSU's third national championship in the past seven years and their first since 2019. The Tigers have now joined Texas as the only teams to win seven or more national titles in NCAA Division I Baseball history.
