Celtics Take 3-0 Lead in NBA Finals

Key Moment: Doncic's 6th Foul Helps Boston Secure Game 3 Victory

In a thrilling Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics held off a late surge from the Dallas Mavericks to secure a crucial 106-98 victory. With the win, the Celtics now hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The game was tightly contested throughout, with both teams trading baskets and neither able to establish a significant lead. Late in the fourth quarter, however, the Mavericks mounted a furious comeback, cutting the Celtics' lead to just five points with just over three minutes remaining.

Just when it seemed like the Mavericks were on the verge of taking control of the game, a crucial play occurred: Dallas star Luka Doncic was called for his sixth foul, sending him to the bench for the rest of the game. With Doncic out, the Celtics were able to regain their composure and close out the victory.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 30 points, while Jaylen Brown added 25 points and Marcus Smart chipped in with 22. For the Mavericks, Doncic finished with 26 points but was limited to just 32 minutes due to his foul trouble.

The Celtics will now look to close out the series in Game 4, which will be played in Dallas on Wednesday night.
